The recent Christian Discipline post had a picture of a woman wearing a girdle. It rekindled my fascination with this old-fashioned garment.
I grew up when girdles were used as birth control. Really. Some Mothers made their daughters wear one, reasoning she might regain control over her hormones before she could get her girdle off. Mothers would give their daughters a pinch as they left the house to ensure protection was in place.
I remember one gal who as soon as we pulled away from her house, she began divesting the myriad of garments her Mother made her put on.
The day I became a spanko. I was in the Navy. I was trading “girlie” magazines with a guy. He had one magazine with pictures of women wearing girdles and spanking each other. I don’t think I had ever seen a picture depicting spanking. But in half a second, I was addicted to spanking as a switch.

This one was nothing but a panty made of stretchy Lycra. I assure you it would not mold you or hold back much of the sting of a wooden paddle. You definitely gotta indulge your fetish! Of course the question comes up, does a thuddy paddle sting more, less, or the same with a girdle on? I’m guessing the sting from a thin paddle will be less. Inquiring minds want to know!
To me, a paddle that does not sting is thuddy. We did not have any thuddy paddles. If I made one that was thuddy, it went on the thickness planer or in the scrap wood pile. So I can’t answer your question.
Any undergarment will mitigate the sting somewhat. Even sheer panties. But crazy people like us, want the sting. I want about 20-24 licks, given full force with a pause between licks so I can recover and unclench. I normally take 6-10 on underwear and the balance bare. Bacall is a strong paddler, according to other men. I felt I had enough when she stopped. I tried to return the favor.
It took me a while to savor my appreciation of girdles. They were becoming rare as I hit puberty in the late sixties, but girdles, along with most lingerie, mini skirts, boots tickled my fancy. I think the idea of a last barrier to access, like a moat for a castle, provides a special titillation for me and others.
I don’t remember girls my age wearing them, but Mrs I, my music teacher, and Mrs H, my English teacher, but did – white and beige respectively.
These days my wife wears them occasionally, sometimes under certain dresses at fancy parties and sometimes at home to tease me
